Hawks, One

He has his eye on me, but his claws are holding down his prey, which he scooped up from the road before flying onto the fairway. I first spotted him sitting on top of one of the lamps on the hotel driveway, then I followed him onto the fairway snapping photos all the time. Ultimately, I walked down the slope towards the pond so I could try to frame him against the sky. I'll show those pictures in another post. While I was snapping away, he started squawking, and a few seconds later a second hawk landed on the fairway. I wasn't able to get them both in the same shot until a few minutes later when they met in my favorite tree. Stay tuned.

You've done really well to catch this guy in the act! Birds of prey are always mightily impressive.

Not too many birds of prey in London. However they do use them to scare the pigeons away in Trafalgar Square.
