Hot Air And A UFO

I left my house early this morning and went straight to the 7-11 to get gas and a coffee for my trip into town. When I finished pumping my gas, I looked up and spotted two hot air balloons on the horizon. They were rising from an open field at the end of the road in yesterday's post ... that is quite a distance from where I was standing. As you can see it was an extremely hazy morning, but I thought the effect on my photos would be kind of surreal, so I started shooting. The first photo was taken at 6:48:21 at 1/210, F5.2. I took a total of thirty-nine shots as the three balloons rose and headed east into the sun. The second shot you see here I took at 6:59:31, at 1/800, F3.2. The last shot, which is not posted, I took at 7:02:30 at 1/550, F4.0. So I stood there for a little over fourteen minutes shooting hot air balloons.

It wasn't until I started to put together this post that I noticed the UFO in the first photo. I didn't see it in the sky when I was shooting. You think I'm crazy? Some might say it's a bird or a plane, but I assure you it is neither. That only leaves Superman or a UFO. I'm opting for UFO. This isn't the first UFO I've seen.

On another note, I'd like to wish all of you beautiful mothers the happiest Mother's Day of your lifetime. That goes for all mothers, no matter what country you come from. I hope you receive the honor and respect you deserve from your family and friends on this, and every, day!

The angels ... singing unto one another,
Can find among their burning terms of love,
None so devotional as that of "mother."

Uma Por Dia: I didn't notice it until tonight when I downloaded the photos. Maybe I'll look for them tomorrow before I leave for Sweet Mama's house.

That first shot is gorgeous - it does look like a UFO. Maybe it's a glider of some kind. Love the angle of the second shot.
Have fun at your Mama's tomorrow!

I think UFOs are neat and I am glad this one showed up later on. Nice pics and very nice sentiments. Thank you. MB

Love the balloons!
I'm glad I'm not the only one who takes oodles and oodles of shots of the same thing!
I vote UFO - it definitely has the shape.
Me too, I think I've seen UFO's twice in my life. One sighting scared me to pieces - no way to explain what I saw.
Maybe this one was meant just for you Champ.
Wonder if the people in the hot air balloon saw anything?

Carletta: I wonder also! I saw a UFO one other time, when I was in college and working nights. Two of us saw it, but the woman I worked with was scared and immediately went into denial, lol. I told my family and friends, but you know how that goes! I looked for news reports the next day, but there weren't any. If that woman hadn't seen it with me, I'd be wondering if I was hallucinating. Seriously.

I am amazed at your UFO....that is what happens isn't it....shooting something else and when you look back at them you see something that wasn't there....as long as they don't "beam you up" I am ok with them showing up.

You'd get a great shot from that balloon!
