The first two of the four balloons that attempted to land in the field behind the Clock Tower appear on the horizon. You can see that after the balloons sail past the tower, the colorful one starts to rise, as the blue and white one descends. I ran across the street to shoot the actual touch down, and one of the two crews that had been in the field waiting to capture the balloons, was running towards a small field opposite the gas station near the gate, where they expected the errant balloon to land.
Coca Cutie: Actually, the field is huge and could accommodate all the balloons, these photos don't reflect that though. I don't know that much about balloons, but it seems when they are coming in for a landing they dip towards the earth, then rise again, then dip down again and land. The second balloon didn't dip enough, rose again, and descended several hundred feet away. A third balloon came in and landed close to the first one, and there was a fourth balloon that didn't make it at all and had to float on to a secondary landing zone.
Too funny--I mean the shots and balloons are beautiful but I just see the the workers running this way and that. Run boys run!! Did the runaway blloon land ok? MB

Seems that there is no space to land! Are we going to see the crew?
Why did he go up again?
